Bhubaneswar: In the aftermath of the major fire mishap in the SUM Hospital here on Monday evening and several patients shifted to other hospitals in the capital city here soon after, Odisha Health Department has opened a control room on Tuesday to monitor the treatment of the patients there.
As per an office order released on the day by Arti Ahuja, Principal Secretary, Health, Odisha, the Control Room has been headed by Additional Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM) and Joint Director, Medical Education and Training, Odisha.
It is set up to monitor the treatment of the patients evacuated from SUM Hospital who are currently under treatment in the private and government hospitals.
The Control Room will obtain hourly information on the patient status from the concerned hospitals and also ensure to that no patients are charged for their treatment while in the concerned hospitals.
In case of any death occurring, all arrangements should be made for transportation of dead bodies to the district/place of their residence or Swargadwar at Puri as the case may be, the Health Department office order stated.
