Malkangiri JE Death Toll Increases

Malkangiri: The killer disease has taken the life of a of 4-year-old Bharati Naag who had come from Sukuma block of the neighbouring Chhattisgarh for treatment of this deadly disease in Malkangiri District Headquarters Hospital making the death toll in the district rise to 64.

Muna Sagadia, a two-year-old boy of Gulikonda village of Kalimela block succumbed to this deadly disease on Friday morning.

A special 6-member Central Team has reached the spot to investigate the matter in this zone.

The team is led by Dr.Kalpana Barua, Joint Director (Anatomies), Dr. B.Patra, Consultant, (NHML), Dr. Akash Srivasstava, Joint Director, (Ep[itamaology), Dr Mayuri Rani, Assistant Director, (Micro-Biology), Dr. D Bhattacharya, Scientist (Virology), Dr Sushma Chowdhary, NCDC, Delhi.
