Look-Out Circular Issued Against SUM Hospital Owner Manoj Nayak

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Twin City Commissionerate Police on Wednesday issued a look-out circular (LOC) against Manoj Nayak, owner of Institute of Medical Science (IMS) and SUM Hospital where 21 people died in tragic fire on Monday.

The City Police also issued the LOC against Sawasti Das, wife of Manoj NayaK.

Manoj and Saswati are the trustees of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University (SOA) Charitable Trust.

The police also informed about the circular notice to the Home Ministry.

“Home Ministry has been informed about the lookout circular against Manoj Nayak and his wife,” said Police Commissioner Y.B. Khurania

Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Black Money has directed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to examine the financial transactions of the institution.

The SIT on Black Money has also directed the state’s DG Police to extend cooperation to the ED in its investigation, revealed sources at the state police headquarters here.

The DGP has been asked to see to it that documents/evidence with regard to the Hospital’s financial transactions are not tampered/destroyed, sources added.

The Police Commissioner also informed they are investigating and the number of arrests may rise.

There are reports that conducting raids at Nayak’s residence and offices connected with his business and is said to have seized several incriminating documents.
