Cyclone Kyant May Not Have Phailin Or Hudhud Like Impact On Odisha: Met Dept

Bhubaneswar: The depression formed at Bay of Bengal some 950 km away from Odisha's Gopalpur coast has now intensified into deep depression and is moving at a speed of 10 km per hour.

By evening the system is likely to move north westward and intensify into a cyclonic storm named 'Kyant'. According to the Bhubaneswar Met Dept Director Sarat Chandra Sahu, the system if moves towards Odisha, the Cyclone is likely to move only along the Odisha coast towards north and so the impact on Odisha would not be like that of Cyclone Phailin in 2013 or Hudhud in 2014.
