Manoj Nayak's Supporters Thrash Media Persons

Bhubaneswar: When the SUM Hospital owner was taken into the 2-day remand from Jharpada jail by the police, a commotion ensued between the supporters of Manoj Nayak and media persons.

It is alleged that a staff of SUM Hospital had hired some goons who had attacked the media persons with cameras and had notably destroyed the boom of some news channels.

After this attack, the media persons teamed up and cornered a few of them and handed them over to the police.

The supporters are allegedly angry over the fact that the media had projected Manoj Nayak’s surrender as arrest.

Notably, when the owner and main accused of the SUM tragedy Manoj Nayak surrendered and was interrogated in Khandagiri P.S on Thursday, hundreds of his supporters had gheraoed the police station and had created ruckus.

In the press meet held by Police Commissioner, Y.B Khurania, which followed this incident, the Media persons were ensured safety by him. In spite of his assurance, the incident of this morning has raised eyebrows.
