Odisha DGP Suspends Police Association's President For Seeking Protection For Cops
Bhubaneswar: Satyajit Mishra, President of Odisha Police Officers’ Association has been suspended by the State Director General of Police (DGP) Dr RP Sharma for demanding protection for cops.
"I have been put under suspension for calling a press meet and asking security for police from irate mob. I was told that my demands and statements have caused an embarrassing situation when the Home Budget Session was underway in Odisha Legislative Assembly," said Mishra, who was also the ACP of Grievance Cell in Commissionerate Police.
Referring to the Baliapal incident in which the local police Inspector had to face the wrath of public, Mishra on Sunday had said that police officers are repeatedly being attacked by the public and this needs to be taken seriously.
