Minor Girl Pregnant In Bhubaneswar Hostel: Commissionerate Of Police Arrests Accused | Odisha News
Bhubaneswar: In the case of pregnancy of a minor tribal girl in a Bhubaneswar, the Commissionerate of Police on Monday arrested a 22-year-old youth on charges of rape. The accused has been identified as Budha Murmu of Salia Sahi under Nayapalli police limits here.
"Acting on complaint filed by the victim's father, the Mahila police registered a case under Section 376 of the IPC and launched a manhunt for the accused. He was arrested from Adivasi Colony in Salia Sahi today evening," DCP Anup Sahoo said.
The accused allegedly raped the minor girl while she had gone to her relative’s place at Salia Sahi during summer vacation. The accused is said to be a neighbour of the victim's relative in Salia Sahi area.
The victim is an inmate of a girl's school hostel in Bhubaneswar, run by the State Government. She tested positive for pregnancy while a regular health check-up was being carried out by Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) after summer vacation.
