Malkangiri: 24 hours after the death of Class 1 student by drowning, the district administration suspended three staffers of Gangala Sevashram residential school and dismissed two others for negligence of duty.
The headmistress of the residential school, an assistant teacher and matron have been placed under suspension, while two cooks were dismissed.
On Monday, class-I student Amit Kalekura drowned to death in a pond when he had gone out to defecate. Later, students and parents had alleged that the incident occurred due to negligence on the part of the residential school staff, who let the boy go out premises alone.
