Minor Girl Found Pregnant In Residential School In Odisha's Kandhamal | Odisha News
Kandhamal: Tension prevailed after a minor girl student was found pregnant at a girls' hostel under Belaghar police limits in Baliguda on Thursday.
As per reports, the students of a residential school run by Kutia Kandha Development Agency (KKDA) were undergoing health check-up on Thursday when the nurse found out that a class 8 girl had been raped and was pregnant.
The nurse immediately informed the headmaster, who filed a complaint. A case was registered under POCSO act and the girl's statement was recorded. Basing on that, police arrested a youth who happens to be a Plus-III student of nearby college.
While the girl has been handed over to Child Welfare Committee, further probe is on.
