Bhubaneswar: Admist the hustle and bustle of city life, a place in the capital city will make you stop and ponder taking you down the memory lane and much more. It is a reminiscence of old times as if the time has stopped there a decade ago. A number of vintage objects will carry you away from the tempestuous affairs of daily life to the wonder old land.

A small rented house in Old Town area o f Bhubaneswar accommodates various vintage objects like gramophone, antique telephone, radiogramme, radio, bioscope, and bikes and other objects.

“It is my passion. I always had a special attraction for old things. I constantly tried to fix up the objects which got broken or were out of order. But I started collecting these vintage objects only 7 years back, and it is only two years that I have taken up this seriously as my profession. I collect, restore, give on rent and sell antique objects,” says Sanjib Kumar Manna, the owner of the vintage collection.

His online business caters mostly to the persons in search of antique pieces. Known as S Kumar’s Vintage World, his business delves into buying, selling, restoring and hiring old and vintage things.

“My main earning comes from restoring and selling old motorcycles and two-wheelers. I remember selling a ‘Lambi’ scooter to a person in Jodhpur for Rs 78,000. After a few months, he sent me a video clipping of a Bollywood movie which featured that scooter. He called me to say that he rented that scooter for 3 days at Rs 1 lakh. It is pleasing to see that people value old things,” narrates Sanjib.
