Obscene Pics & Video Viral: Odisha Jatra Artist Arrested By Commissionerate Police

Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police on Friday arrested a jatra (theatre) artist on charges of circulating objectionable video and pictures of his female co-actor on social media.

The accused has been identified as Deepak Kumar Mohanty, a resident of Basudevpur in Bhadrak district. He was arrested and forwarded to a local court here after a case was registered against him at Nandankanan police station last month.

The 38-year-old artist was then working in famous jatra party. He made the video while one of his co-star was changing costume in the green room. He later uploaded the pictures and video on social media platform.

Mohanty was arrested under sections 354 (A), 354 (C), 384, 506, 509 of IPC and section 66(E) of IT Act.
