Rs 10 Lakh Loan Lent To Dhenkanal Farmers During ‘Cooperative At Your Doorstep’ Awareness Programme
Dhenkanal: To spread awareness about Odisha Government’s new programme ‘Cooperative At Your Doorstep’ aiming at development of farmers in the State, a special ceremony was inaugurated today morning at Dhenakanal’s Talabarkote.
While Dhenkanal MP Tathagata Satapathy graced the occasion as the chief guest, State Cooperative Bank’s Chairman Akshaya Kumar Mohanty and local Cooperative Society’s chief Kishore Chandra Singh were also present as guests.
Several farmers attended the meeting where they learnt about the various schemes under the ‘Cooperative At Your Doorstep’ programme. Some farmers were also given business loans worth Rs 10 lakhs along with animal loan and Kisaan Credit Cards, by the guests.
Nihar Ranjan Das, Chairman of Talabarkote Co-operative Society said, “The number of voters in Talabarkote is more than 10,000. However, only 1400 members are in our society till now. With this programme, we aim at increasing our co-operative’s strength.”
