Man Dies From Snake Bite, Wife Critical
Keonjhar: A man died while his wife is battling with life after being bitten by a poisonous snake at Bhagamunda village under Pandapara block in the district today. The man was identified as Rangadhar Barik and wife Purudi Barik.
As per sources, the elderly couple was fast asleep when a poisonous snake slithered into their house and bit them in the wee hours today. Upon feeling the bite sensation, Purudi woke up and managed to kill the snake, which was reportedly identified as a common krait.
The duo was later rushed to hospital where Rangadhar succumbed to the fatal sting, whereas Purudi was still under observation, till last reports came in.
