Odisha: Two Cops Suspended For Brutally Thrashing Youth In Jagatsinghpur
Jagatsinghpur: In a case of police brutality, the district’s Superintendant of Police has suspended two cops today after allegations of brutally thrashing a youth emerged against them in here in Sadar police station.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Rabinarayan Senapati and Constable Siba Jani have been suspended.
Reportedly, one Lingaraj Das of Odiso village was brutally thrashed in his rear region by the cops on September 12.
According to police sources, two youths had been held for interrogation after the Sarpanch had filed a complaint against them for harassing his wife in an inebriated state. However, the Sarpanch had later dropped the complaint as he did not want to go further with it.
