Odisha CM Reviews Flood Situation Of 3 Districts, Announces 7-Day Relief


Bhubaneswar: Taking stock of the flood situation in the districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapada and Jajpur, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik communicated with the Collectors of the affected districts via video conferencing in the Secretariat today and announced seven days of relief for the people.

Announcing daily relief worth Rs 60 for aged people and Rs 45 for children below 12-years of age, the Chief Minister also extended free health care services including vaccination for domestic animals. The Collectors were asked to submit a report on the progress of their concerned districts after one week.

The review conducted by the CM concluded that 17 blocks of the three districts have been affected by the floods along with four urban local bodies and 903 villages. A total of 7.5 lakh people were hit by the rising water level in River Baitarani and around 50,000 hectares of farmland was damaged.
