Odisha CM Dedicates ‘Fakir Mohan Medical College & Hospital’ To Public In Balasore
Bhubaneswar: Close on the heels of the inauguration of Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Balangir last week, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in presence of Union Minister of State for Health Ashwini Kumar Choubey dedicated the much-awaited Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital to the public here today.
Before inaugurating the medical college and hospital, the Chief Minister unveiled the statue of legendary Odia poet, novelist and story-teller Fakir Mohan Senapati at the entrance of the new institution.
Fakir Mohan Senapati is popular as ‘Vyas Kabi’ and is regarded as the father of Odia novel and short stories. He is noted for his illustrious contributions to the growth and nourishment of Odia literature. With the inauguration of the medical college, the admission-cum- academic session for the 100 MBBS seats has also simultaneously begun from this year.
