Odisha Assembly Monsoon Session Day 2: Fuel Price Hike, Teachers' Strike Ruckus Mars House Proceedings


Bhubaneswar: While the opening day of the Monsoon Session of Odisha Assembly was adjourned till today after obituary references accorded to ex-Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, ex-Lok Sabha Speaker Somnathe Chatterjee, ex-Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi and other departed souls, the second day got marred by pandemonium and the Speaker had to adjourn the House during the Question Hour.

Soon after the House assembled at 10.30 am for the day, Congress members rushed to the well of the House and squatted before the Speaker’s podium protesting the hike of petrol and diesel prices. Similarly, BJP members raised the issue of teachers’ strike.
