Odisha Assembly Monsoon Session: Congress, BJP's Uproar Yet Again Stalls House, Adjourned Till Tommorrow

Bhubaneswar: The Monsoon Session of Odisha Assembly since September 4 has been adversely affected by ruckus created by opposition Congress and BJP as well as ruling BJD over the fuel price hike and teachers’ strike issues and also over the issues of sapling scam, OMFED pouch scam and cooperative scam.

Even today, ruckus created by Congress members over fuel price hike and by BJP members over the scams bound down Speaker Pradip Kumar Amat to adjourn the House proceedings till tomorrow. Last week too, the fate of the Assembly was the same following which the Speaker had to adjourn the House from Friday till today (Monday) as Saturday and Sunday were holidays.

As Congress has given a Bharat Bandh call today protesting the skyrocketing hike in petrol and diesel prices and had demanded yesterday for the adjournment of the Assembly, Congress activists led by Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) chief Niranjan Patnaik sat on dharna in front of the main gate of the Legislative Assembly campus here.
