JE Deprives Poor Parents Of Their Future Support
Malkangiri: “Alas! My only son is dead. How could I survive now? My two supporting hands are no more. Earlier my daughter had succumbed to the killer disease and now it was my son’s turn. I entreated the doctors to save them, at least my only son, but all in vain. Even my sincere prayers to God also went unanswered,” lamented Sonu Padiami, a bereft father of Daniguda village under Tindirimal Gram Panchayat of tribal-dominated Malkangiri block in the district here.
Sonu, is one among many such parents who have been deprived of their children following their premature deaths due to the deadly disease of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) that has been taking a massive toll on the poor and innocent children of this tribal-dominated district.
