Unexpected Rains In Odisha, 7 Districts Alerted | Odisha News


Bhubaneswar: After several days of early morning dense fog, mid-February showers have taken people by surprise in the Twin City as showers lashed Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and many coastal areas of the State today.

Normal life was thrown out-of-gear as heavy rains persisted in the morning and water flooded some streets. The day-to-day activities were delayed and the atmosphere remained gloomy.

The Regional Meteorological Department also issued warnings to seven districts. “Latest Doppler and weather radar and satellite images indicate that light to moderate thunderstorm with rain fall accompanied with lightning likely to occur at one or two places over Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Kandhamal, Kalahandi till 8:30 AM today.”
