Puri: In a shocking incident, the nephew of Puri Municipality’s former chairman Jayant Sarangi’s was attacked by miscreants here late last night and is currently undergoing treatment in a critical condition.
The incident occurred with the victim Nikhil Sarangi at Medical Square in Badadanda area under Kumbharpada police limits. Some miscreants intercepted Nikhil’s way, attacked him with a knife and fled the scene.
On sustaining grievous injuries, Nikhil was rushed to Puri Sadar hospital and was later shifted to private hospital in Bhubaneswar when his condition worsened.
Cops are investigating further into the matter to ascertain the exact reason behind the attack.
