Maoists Violence Erupts In Odisha’s Kandhamal | Odisha News
Phulbani: Red rebels made their presence felt in the tribal-dominated district of Kandhamal as a group of Maoists torched six vehicles and allegedly ransacked a construction camp near Desughati under Belghar police limits. Around 20 Maoists ransacked the camp and torched the equipments that were being used for construction of Belghar-Jhiripani road.
As soon as the incident came to the fore, tension and panic gripped the locals. While cops have begun investigation into the incident, locals stayed away from public places to avoid any untoward incident.
It is notabvle to mention here that the red rebels had wreaked havoc in several districts by felling trees and torching buses during their ‘Protest Week’ (Shaeed Saptah) in January.
