Phase-II Polls: Voting Begins In 5 Lok Sabha & 35 Assembly Seats Of Odisha | Odisha News
Bhubaneswar: People of five Parliamentary constituencies of Aska, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Bargarh and Sundargarh in Odisha lined up outside polling booths to elect their Lok Sabha representatives today in the second-phase polls.
Similarly, the 35 Assembly seats that are polling today for MLA candidates are- Aska, Sorada, Sanakhemundi, Hinjili, Polasara, Kabisuryanagar, Khalikote, Baliguda, G. Udaygiri, Boudh, Kantamal, Bhanjanagar, Daspalla, Phulbani, Titlagarh, Patnagarh, Sonepur, Kantabanji, Biramaharajpur, Loisinga, Bolangir, Bargarh, Attabira, Bhatli, Padampur, Bijepur, Jharsuguda, Brajarajnagar, Sundargarh, Rajgangpur, Talsara, Rourkela, Ragunathpali, Bonai and Biramitrapur .
While voting started on time at 7 am in most places, there were technical difficulties in some booths due to which polling began few minutes later. By 6 pm in the evening, the process is expected to be complete.
A total of 76.93 lakh voters are eligible to cast their franchise out of which 39.45 lakh male, 37.47 lakh female and 605 others will cast their votes in 9,117 booths, said sources at Chief Electoral Officer (CEO).
