Odisha: 95-Yr-Old Man Dies Waiting In Queue Outside Polling Booth In Ganjam | Odisha News
Ganjam: In an unfortunate incident, a 95-year-old man died while waiting in queue outside polling booth to cast his vote in a booth at Sanakhemundi Assembly seat under Aska Parliamentary Constituency here today morning.
The deceased has been identified as Natabar Behera of Kansamati village.
Reportedly, the incident occurred outside Booth no-183 when Behera was waiting in line to exercise his franchise. He showed signs of weakness, collapsed and died on the spot. He was rushed to Digapahandi Medical where doctors declared him dead.
It is notable to mention here that Election Commission had issued guidelines to take necessary steps in order to facilitate smooth voting by senior citizens and persons with physical disabilities.
