Bhadrak: In a shocking incident, an ‘unconscious’ man was allegedly declared dead and sent for post-mortem at Bhadrak district headquarters hospital (DHH) here.
The incident unfolded on Saturday morning when one Sujit Khatua of Khatuapatna village under Dhusuri Police limits was admitted to the hospital for treatment after he became unconscious. However, a doctor Karunakar Rout allegedly declared him dead and informed his family that post-mortem would be conducted soon.
Fortunately, Khatua regained his senses just ahead of post-mortem. His condition is reportedly stable, reports stated.
Irate by the medical negligence, patient’s brother Satyajit Khatua filed a complaint against the ‘erring’ doctor at the Bhadrak Town Police Station. He also accused the doctor of dozing while examining the patient.
