Odisha: 3 Held For Oil Theft From IOCL Pipeline In Paradip | Odisha News
Paradip: As many as three persons were arrested by the Paradip Police last night on charges of stealing oil that leaked from the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) pipeline laid between Atharbanki and Nehru Bangala area here.
The arrested persons have been identified as Rabindra Kumar Verma, Prasanna Mandal and Kunjabihari Dalei. According to reports, another accused Saroj Mallik is still absconding.
Cops informed that the four were unauthorisedly stealing oil after drilling the pipeline. A boat, pipe and a huge amount of diesel have been seized from their possession.
It is notable to mention here that oil leakage from the pipeline was noticed in the river water by locals on February 24 following which they informed the matter to the police. A manhunt had been launched to nab the accused.
