Bhubaneswar: Death usually catches one unaware. In a shocking incident, a 27-year-old youth died while fixing a pipe inside a water tank in VSS Nagar area of capital city here last evening. The deceased person has been identified as Rudra Dora, a native of Ganjam.
He was living in Nayapalli and was working for a contractor. He had been commissioned to fix a water pipe in VSS Nagar. Unfortunately, his hand got stuck in the pipe and suddenly the water supply was left open. As large quantity of water gushed out, Rudra struggled to free his hand and escape from the tank but the water filled up the reservoir and he drowned to death.
Rudra's legs were visible outside the tank and locals immediately tried to drag him out on hearing his screams for help. On intimation, fire services personnel reached the spot and recovered his body. Rudra choked and asphyxiated to death.
