‘Titli’ Flood In Odisha: 2 Copters Commence Sorties, Air-Drop Relief Materials In Flood-Hit Ganjam, Gajapati
Berhampur/Bhubaneswar: As had been decided yesterday at the high level review meeting chaired by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the State Secretariat after holding video conferencing with the three Collectors of Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada, two helicopters that had reached Ganjam yesterday in the late afternoon hours began their hectic sorties today morning for air-dropping relief materials.
Briefing media at State Secretariat, Odisha Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Bishnupada Sethi informed, “We have been using two helicopters since today morning. While one helicopter has been pressed into service for airdropping of relief materials in Ganjam, another is being used in Gapajati.”
The two Naval helicopters took off from Rangeilunda Airstrip to air drop food packets and relief materials in post Cyclone Titli-affected Aska and Purushottampur in Ganjam due to severe flood.
