Latest Updates On Cyclone ‘Titli’


Bhubaneswar: Close on the heels of cyclonic storm ‘Daye’ hitting the coast of Odisha, a new a natural calamity by the name of ‘Titli’ is fast approaching the state. As administration and denizens of the State are preparing to brace themselves, here are the latest updates on the cyclonic storm as per the information released by Regional Meteorological Department:

As per 8 AM Bulletin: The depression over eastcentral Bay of Bengal intensified into deep depression at 11.30 pm of 8th October and moved further west-northwestwards with a speed of about 11 kmph in last 3 hours.

Then, it lay centered at 2.30 am on 9th October 2018 near latitude 14.6°N and longitude 87.3°E, about 570 km southeast of Gopalpur (Odisha) and 530 km southeast of Kalingapatnam (Andhra Pradesh). It is very likely to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm during next 24 hours. It is very likely to move westnorthwestwards for some more time and then northwestwards towards Odisha & adjoining north Andhra Pradesh coasts during next 72 hours.
