Baripada: Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Dayanidhi Das was killed during a regular vehicle inspection at Takatpur when a motorcycle hit him at a high speed. The freak accident occurred on Monday.
As per police reports, ASI Das and his team were conducting a regular vehicle inspection at Takatpur yesterday evening. Das requested two people aboard the motorcycle to stop the vehicle. The motorists first slowed the bike but then sped up. In a bid to flee the motorcycle hit Das.
Das was critically injured and was immediately rushed to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital. He succumbed to his injuries later.
