Odisha: 6,000 Minor Rape Cases Registered During 2015-2019, Says Minister | Odisha News
Bhubaneswar: Odisha recorded 6,085 cases in which minor girls were allegedly raped during 2015 and 2019 (September). The data was provided by Minister of State for Home Department, Dibya Shankar Mishra during the Question Hour of on-going Winter Session of Odisha Legislative Assembly on Monday.
Mishra revealed that total 11,018 rape cases (including women and children) were registered in different police stations across the State between 2015 and 2019. The data for the current year was available till 30th September.
The data further revealed that as many as 70 (women and child included) were raped and murdered during the aforementioned period in Odisha. In 2018, 15 rape and murder cases were registered while this year six such cases have been reported so far.
