Puri: In a viral video, two lifeguards are seen reacting to a woman’s call for help and jumping into the water to rescue her. The woman had lost control amidst strong water current and had been sucked into the sea for about 100 metres.
The woman, Nilabati Sahoo (36) of Tihidi, Bhadrak was taking a dip at 6.25 am at the sea beach near Swargradwaar area here when strong currents pulled her in. Hearing her cries for help, two lifeguards- G Chankradhar (LG 639) and K Ajit (LG 698) rushed to help her. Using tubes they brought her to shore.
By this time she had swallowed a lot of saline water. Sahoo was given first aid to egest the seawater, but later taken to Puri District hospital for further treatment.
