Resume Court Work Or Face Action, Bar Council Of India Warns Odisha’s Striking Lawyers | Odisha News
Bhubaneswar: Terming the ceasework of Odisha lawyers as baseless and unnecessary, the Bar Council of India (BCI) today directed 68 bar associations of the State, including the Orissa High Court Bar Association (OHCBA) to recall their strike immediately.
Taking strong exception to the strike by the lawyers, the BCI stated that crucial working days have been wasted and the litigants/petitioners have suffered because of the ceasework. Besides, the strike has also caused a loss to exchequer, it added.
Issuing a notice to the OHCBA and other bar associations, the BCI has sought an immediate response on this matter by November 3, while directing the striking lawyers to resume court work immediately
