NIA Shares Expertise On Terror Investigation With Odisha Cops | Odisha News


Bhubaneswar: Around 100 mid-level officers of Odisha Police from all districts of the ranks of inspectors and deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) are attending a workshop on 'Investigation of Terror Cases' at the Conference Hall of the Police Bhawan here today.

The one-day workshop on capacity building for police officials is being organised by the State police in collaboration with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for the first time in the State.

Around 100 officers from the ranks of inspectors and DSPs have arrived here. They will undergo training on different aspects of investigation of terror-related cases," informed Director General of Police (DGP), Odisha Bijay Kumar Sharma here today before the start of the workshop.

In most of these cases, the accused is not caught, oral evidence is not available, documentary evidence is not available, these cases are more often investigated on the basis of forensic and technological evidence," he added highlighting the complexities of terror investigation
