Odisha: Woman Alleges Rape By Zilla Parishad Member’s Husband In Jajpur
Jajpur: A woman has alleged raped by the husband of Ranjita Rout, a Zilla Parishad member in Dasarathpur block here. She has lodged an FIR at Mangalpur police station stating that the accused Damodar Rout had abducted and raped her on January 24.
Sources said that victim’s family and the Rout family were always at loggerheads. While the victim has already undergone a medical examination, no arrests have been made in connection with the case, complained the victim’s mother.
With no other option, the victim said that she had to knock the doors of Jajpur Superintendent of Police to seek his intervention. Meanwhile, Additional SP Akshay Kumar Dash has assured that an investigation will be initiated into the incident and action will be taken accordingly.
Rout was not available for comments regarding the case.
