Odia Actress Nikita's Death Mystery: Husband Being Grilled, Forensic Team Begins Probe On Spot
Cuttack: Soon after registering a case based on the complaint lodged by popular TV serial actress Laxmipriya Behera aka Nikita’s aggrieved father Sanatan Behera last night (Sunday), Chauliaganj police personnel swung into action the very day by detaining her accused husband for grilling.
Today (Monday) the forensic team reached the spot of occurrence for in-depth investigation.
Nikita’s father in his FIR has accused her husband Lipan Sahu and in-laws of his daughter’s murder.
In his FIR he has alleged that Nikita has been pushed off the roof by her husband.
In his media reactions, Cuttack DCP Akhilehvar Singh said, “Her father has filed an FIR in Chauliaganj Police Station last night. He has alleged that his daughter’s husband pushed her off the terrace resulting in her death. Investigation has already begun.”
“We have detained her husband and interrogation is on. We’re examining various angles of dispute and the dispute on the day of the mysterious death. Action will be taken accordingly,” he stated. He further stated, “Also allegation has been leveled against her in-laws for torturing her. They will also be grilled.”
The Cuttack DCP also informed, “We are yet to receive the post-mortem report. We have requested the doctor make it available soon. FMT has been deployed for spot visit and investigation.”
“Prima facie reveals that the couple had a dispute that day. She was in her parental house and her husband had also been to there. After dispute at home, both went to the terrace. While father alleges that her husband pushed her off the roof, the accused husband defends that she committed suicide jumping off. We are verifying into all the statements and on-the-spot investigation,” the DCP observed.
