Odisha: Facebook Friend Murders 7-Yr-Old Son Of Woman As She Declines Love Proposal
Berhampur: Little did Nirupama knew that her friendship with a man on Facebook will devastate her life forever. She had befriended a man Debasish Panda on the social media a year ago. He started to visit her house frequently and she introduced him as his ‘dharma’ brother to everyone.
Nirupama’s son Ashish Ansuman turned seven on January 5 and Debasish had come to her home to celebrate her son’s birthday.
“On the fateful day (Jan 12), Debasish picked the boy on his scooty on the pretext of dropping him at school. But instead of taking him to school, he rode towards Tara Tarini forest in Purusottampur where he stoned the child to death. Later he fled to Sambalpur to a friend’s place hoping not to be caught. When the deceased’s mother lodged an FIR at the Gosani Nuagaon police of his disappearance, the police reached to the accused during investigation. We also seized Ashish's blood stained ID-Card and school dress from Debasish’s possession,” informed Bishnu Pati, SDPO, Berhampur.
Debasish was arrested and he confessed his crime. He even showed the place where he had killed and dumped the body of the minor boy. The police seized the body and have sent it for post mortem.
