Odisha: Dreaded Criminal Injured In Kendrapara Police Encounter, Nabbed | Odisha News
Kendrapara: In yet another encounter by Odisha Police, dreaded criminal Sheikh Mehtab was injured and nabbed near Kendrapara-Gandakhia road here on Tuesday morning.
Acting on a tip off, a team of Sadar Police and special squad intercepted Mehtab but the criminal fired at the cops. Exercising their right to private defence, police personnel retaliated and opened controlled fire at Mehtab.
However, Mehtab's accomplice manged to flee the spot. Cops seized a pistol, bike, Rs 2000 cash and a mobile phone from Mehtab’s possession.
On sustaining bullet injuries on both his knees, Mehtab was rushed to hospital in a critical condition and is currently undergoing treatment. Reportedly, around 30-40 cases are pending against Mehtab in several districts.
