Bhubaneswar: A second case of Triple Talaq in Odisha was reported from Sunadharbasana village under Bhograi police limits on Sunday.
As per reports, Nilofer Bibi married Sheikh Sahir in 2017. Following that, Sahir and his family demanded for more dowry and began harassing Nilofer. They even threatened to poison her food and burn her alive.
When Nilofer became pregnant, her in-laws allegedly tried to forcefully administer contraceptive pill to her. Fortunately, the foetus survived and Nilofer gave birth to a baby girl in April. After the birth of their child, the village head called for a meeting to negotiate between the two when Sahir publicly pronounced 'Talaq' three times.
Following this, Nilofer filed a complaint at Bhograi police station and further probe is on.
