Eviction Drive Up To 75 Mtrs From Puri Srimandir Begins With Demolition Of Nanguli Mutt | Odisha News
Puri: Structures with 75 metre radius of Puri Srimandir are being demolished in a mega Rs 500-crore developmental and beautification drive of the temple town. The structure to be demolished today is the Nanguli Mutt.
The Mutt located near the temple had been declared unsafe a decade ago. Atleast 10 shops running business from the mutt have already moved their stock as per District Administration’s orders.
Puri Collector had previously informed that the Mutt Mahant had agreed with vacating the premises and also with relocation.
Including District Collector and Puri SP, seven Magistrates are present at the site of demolition. Additionally, 30 platoon police force and Odisha Swift Action Force (OSAF) personnel have been deployed in Puri to maintain law and order situation.
