'Gang War' Claims One Life In Odisha’s Cuttack | Odisha News
Cuttack: In an alleged gang war incident, a 35-year-old anti-social Tapan Behera died after being critically injured in a knife attack by another youth at Matia Mangala Sahi on Sunday.
As per reports, Tapan Behera and Happy Mohanty (20) were always at loggerheads over past enmity. At around 9:30 pm, Tapan and Happy crossed paths and old problems resurfaced between them. A verbal duel between the two soon turned into a physical brawl and their friends also joined in.
Tapan was allegedly attacked with a sharp weapon and he sustained injuries on his back, shoulder and waist. Soon after the incident, Happy and his gang fled the spot. He was undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital but later he succumbed to his injuries.
On intimation, cops reached the spot and began probe into the matter. Police officials informed that both Happy and Tapan have several criminal cases against their names.
