4 Arrested For Tonsuring & Torturing Lovebirds In Odisha's Mayurbhanj | Odisha News
Mayurbhanj: Four persons have been arrested in connection with tonsuring and torturing a couple in full public glare on Monday at Mandua village under Karanjia police station. The arrested persons are Sk Nausad, Sk Mustafiz, Sk Ashiq and Sk Kutu of the same village.
"On the basis of the case registered by the female victim, police immediately took action and rescued them to safety. Four main accused have also been arrested and forwarded to court," informed Karanjia SDPO Narayan Naik.
Sources added that the woman was married but her husband had left her. She was having an affair with another youth of the village that angered the locals and they took the extreme step, stated reports.
"Due to sensitivity of the matter, police is keeping a close watch on the situation to maintain peace and harmony in the area. At the same time, steps are being taken for apprehension of other accused persons," informed Mayurbhanj SP Awinash Kumar.
