Lord Lingaraj Goes Without Food Amid Servitors Dispute | Odisha News
Bhubaneswar: Rituals at Lord Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar have been stalled since yesterday following a dispute between servitors over ownership of a piece of temple land causing the Lord to go without food for over 20 hours.
The Brahmana and Pujapanda Nijogs have alleged that the Badu Nijog has illegally constructed a building on the land belonging to the 11th century shrine near Gangua River Bed.
The alleging servitors have been staging protest since yesterday demanding the temple and local administration to take immediate possession of the land as it belongs to Lord Lingaraj.
However, the Badu Nijog has refuted the allegations claiming that the land does not belong to the temple. It has got the ownership of the land from the temple administration through mutation way back in 1914.
