Kalpana Dash’s Body Reaches Kathmandu
Dhenkanal: The body of acclaimed mountaineer Kalpana Dash reached Kathmandu on Thursday afternoon. Dash's mortal remains were retrieved on May 28 from the Everest balcony (close to the summit), following which the body was brought down to the Lukla base camp today and flown to Kathmandu.
While the body was scheduled to be brought down to Nepal capital on Wednesday, extreme weather conditions posed problems.
After completing all formalities, which might take two days, the body will be flown out to Bhubaneswar. Three-member team comprising Kalpana’s brother Pradeep, mountaineer Ganesh Jena and her relative Ranjit Karmi, will bring back her body.
