Odisha CM Makes Bhubaneswar 'Global Smart City' With City-Wide Wi-Fi, 'First Ever In India'
Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the international sports extravaganza Odisha Men's Hockey World Cup, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday launched city-wide Bhubaneswar.Me Wi-Fi Project by the Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) in a bid to make the capital city accessible to internet connectivity across its major happening places.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “Today is a historic day for Bhubaneswar. The city of temples will have an IT backbone comparable to the best modern cities in the world. Bhubaneswar.Me Wi-Fi project will be game changer for our youth to realize the heights of knowledge economy. Bhubaneswar will stamp its entry as global smart city 500 hotspots spanning the entire city under this project.”
“There will not be any charge on data usages for the citizens and free data pack is also provided for all users. I call upon the youth to utilize these world-class facilities and aim big in their spheres of work,” observed the Odisha Chief Minister.
