KIIT Group Clash: Late Night Eviction After Sine Die Left Many Girl Students Stranded In Railway Station, Airport
Bhubaneswar: An incident went horribly wrong as around 500 students of School of Law and many engineering students of KIIT University were left stranded in the railway station and airport here in the middle of the night. Everyone, including the first year girl students, who are completely new to the city were filled up in KIIT buses and dropped at the railway station and airport allegedly without any specific arrangements by the authorities.
A first year law student, on condition of anonymity, recounted her harrowing experience. She told OMMCOM NEWS, “We were asked to join a peaceful agitation in the campus for the whole night. But around midnight, we got information that a BTech student had died. There was widespread fear as the engineering students had turned very violent. We were asked to vacate the hostel within 5-10 minutes at around 2:45 am."
Another first year student cried out, "At around midnight, many girls left the place of protest and retired back to their rooms. But soon, we got a message that around 2000 students along with around 500 goons would attack our hostel. We got really frightened, so the seniors advised us to lace ourselves with knives and scissors for our safety. But after an hour, we got information that the police have come and everything is under control. At around 2:30 am, all the students were called downstairs at the reception, were asked to pack bags and vacate the hostel quickly. “
