Odisha Govt’s Bid To Duck Supreme Court’s Liquor Ban, State Highways Renamed Urban Roads!
Bhubaneswar: As a majority of the liquor shops within 500 metres either side of the highways across the State here have been shut down since April 1 in pursuance of the ban imposed by the Supreme Court, Odisha Government has come up with a compensatory means of saving its coffers from the huge loss by renaming the state highways (SHs) as ‘urban roads’ that are passing through cities, towns, sub-divisional, block and tehsil headquarters.
